THE CURRENT WEBSITE FOR THE NATIONAL VIOLA AND PANSY SOCIETY2013 SEEDLINGS FROM HAND CROSSED PLANTS AT DIFFERENT STAGES FOLLOWING GERMINATION.

The first attachment is of seeds sown in last week of July and then pricked out three weeks ago.

The third attachment were sown on August 31st and photographed this week October 4th 2014 .

The third attachment shows that sometimes seed from the same cross using the same pollen parent will not germinate. The seed was sown in two lines in the tray.

The right hand line 100% the left hand side nil.

Both had the same parents a viola plant bought from a market in Much Wenlock crossed with an exhibition viola -Jimmy’s Dark, second attachment.

A lovely cultivar, but petals not weather resistant for shows.

Trying to improve this by crossing mongrel with pedigree plant wise.
