Mima Walker Exhibition Viola

An amazing, if a  little disconcerting, characteristic of exhibition violas.

The first attachment is of a plant of Mima Walker, raised from a cutting in September 2012.pictue taken Feb 16th 2013.

The deep blue colour shown on the unopened bloom will in summer be  a completely different colour-as  the second attachment shows.

Some  growers think that at the early part of the year that they have found a “sport” but to be later disappointed when the true colour is revealed as heat seems to alter the pigments.
