Insect proof net erected ready for hybridising .

Following the problems of hand hybridising in the greenhouse last year, when the temperature reached far too high for seed to set and stressed the plants being used  for  the crossing.

In anticipation of  hybridising this year I obtained  a readymade bought insect proof cage.

It has four Velcro sides and the base is pegged into the ground.

The chosen potted plants for crossing are just about to open their first blooms so, hopefully, within a few days they will be placed into the structure to await  fertilisation by me by placing pollen onto the receptive stigmas.
