Florist Fancy Pansy and Florist Exhibition Viola seeds germinated.

The first attachment is of hand pollinated Exhibition Viola, and  the second of open (bee)  pollinated Fancy Pansy parent seedlings.

They will stay out probably unprotected all  winter, as last year even after minus 17oC the ones that had late germinated  and not potted on, all made it through the bad weather.

The gravel and garlic granules that can be seen are all to prevent slugs attacking the  seedlings. So far no damage !!!
