Just to brighten things up a couple of pictures from the very first show that I attended in respect of Florist Pansy and Viola flowers.
For the purist exhibitor:=
The black whiskers on the flowers, bedding viola, in the first picture, WOULD likely down point the exhibit as one of the the judging rules state+- NO RAYS/OR COMMOM TERM” WHISKERS” OR SEMBLANCE OF RAYS SHOULD BE PRESENT, but if the grower has no choice then it becomes a little academic.
The stems of the flowers are held in glass tubes, dibbed into sand in the moss covered pot.
One nice outcome of growing in pots is that you can lift the plants to eye height ,and perhaps appreciate them more !!!
