minus seven below and still only October pictured in Oxfordshire this morning

First picture of one of my max and min thermometer this morning at about 9 am in garden beside plants.

Second of jack frost’s work on  plants in pots.

Third of FLORIST  fancy  pansy seed sown four weeks ago, but even with only  seed leaves still hardy enough to not be worried about this low temperature.

The pots were very damp following heavy rain showers a day before which helps them withstand these cold temps better, last year the plants in pots outside-no cover withstood minus 13’s quite often with no harm.

Even with temps as low as this greenfly still seems to survive.

For definition of the word FLORIST please see how to grow page on this website.
