The lowest temp recorded in the bed in January ,was minus 13.No cover -as snows indicates .
This freeze went on for weeks, and in the spring ALL pots were o.k. and plants survived as did the grower, very concerned at what the end result might be.Equally determined to survive was the resident family of greenfly.How they did I am not sure.
As one of the types from which the garden pansy was bred, grows in the Pyrenees , it is perhaps not surprising that pansies are so hardy in the uk.
