Growing seedlings in baskets to observe new colours etc seemed to lend itself to this method .No slugs, no bending, and easy to look after.
End result disaster, as pansies and violas do not trail, they just wanted to grow up,eventualy due to weight of stem etc they did fall down, but by then they were mildewed, and full of greenfly.
The ones on the top were fine, but those in the sides had a short life as I pulled out 100% after the first flowers.
Sad thing is I bought in bulk to reduce costs and now have some 25 baskets to spare.
Going to try tomatoes in the tops next year, and try some other ideas to grow a lot of plants in a small space.
